After a successful debut of The Penumbra live band at Red Rocks, we are bringing the experience to Denver for another 2 night run at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. I couldn’t love this venue more, and I feel it’s the perfect place to share the musicianship of each band member.
The Penumbra is:
Ilya Goldberg on violin, and a multitude of other instruments
Colby Buckler on drums
Glenn Taylor on pedal steel
Me on vocals, guitar, and whatever other instruments I can fit in my van.
In the nature of keeping things random and weird, we are preparing a special themed experience unique to each night.
Night 1 (Friday – 12/13): Masquerade of Desire
Desire propels us to succeed, it guides us to our destiny, and challenges us to find our most potent expressions. It’s also such a sexy word, isn’t it? Come with your mask, or come with your masks removed. Let’s dress to the occasion and dance in the throws of desire.
I’ve been gifted the opportunity to produce new material twice this year in the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park, and look forward to unveiling the magic of this potent place on night 1.
We are very excited to have support on this night from the incredible music of Dillard.
Night 2 (Saturday – 12/14): Time Traveler’s Soirée
Let’s travel together through time and celebrate this life in the now. Come dressed to represent your favorite moment in time (maybe it’s a decade, maybe it’s a person, maybe it’s something really cool none of us have experienced yet because it’s…future). Let’s fly together through the continuum of the universal fabric that binds us to eternity.
We look forward to presenting a journey into my discography, classic tracks in a new light, and also diving into a few timeless songs never before performed in the Penumbra spirit.
We are honored to have support on this night from the amazing Living Light.
Both nights will have meet-&-greets. Stay tuned for more info on that.

Let’s rock Denver!! I cannot wait.
I am happy to announce my fall tour dates for 2019! I’ve been working on tons of new music and can not wait to bring it to all my favorite cities and venues. I always love fall tour and hitting up the west coast and mountain towns. Can’t wait to see you on the road! Artwork by the amazing Megan Walker (Reverie Ink.)
It is my pleasure to announce the dates for my upcoming spring tour in support of my new album, Anew. I can’t wait to hit the road and share all the new music I’ve been working on. My team worked hard to locate and secure some of the best venues and festivals in the world. I’ll be joined by some of my favorite artists as well. Bluetech, who also has a new album coming out, will be joining me for a solid run on the East coast. I’ll also be teaming up with the legends Desert Dwellers and Russ Liquid for some shows.
Big thanks to Daniel Beltrá for the incredible aerial photograph of the Amazon rainforest used for this poster and my album cover.

I am excited to present My inaugural two- night journey at my favorite venue in Denver, CO, Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. This event will take place on Dec 7th & 8th. The theme of this doubleheader is Fate & Free Will. For a long time, I have lived by a philosophy that fate and free will exist simultaneously. Like a gyroscope, they are intrinsically connected, yet our minds cannot comprehend how they interplay. We are bound to our fate, yet have complete free will. Through this concept, I have found my lyrics and often this helps me understand song structure itself.
Fate is the unseen future that is already there, but not illuminated. In some ways, the concept of fate is harsh in its solidity, yet comforting in the knowledge that it is already written. Night one will feature a darker, heavier theme & flow from dusk to night with support from Denver locals Supersillyus & Blossomn.
Free will is the unformulated state of infinite possibility. All is illuminated and we are completely free to choose our path. In some ways it is soft in its openness, yet we must be trepidatious when stepping into the complete unknown. Night two will be lighter, more melodic and emotionally uplifting & thematically flow from dawn to day with Support from TOR & Blossomn.
I plan on having a lot of live instrumentation, vocals, and amazing guest performers both nights.
The artwork was custom made for this show by the incredible Marisa Aragón Ware. There are 2 posters that when put together form one complete masterpiece. She drew from creatures of the night and day and I feel as though she perfectly encapsulated the concept for these 2 nights. These will be available as prints at the show. This will be a one of a kind experience and we hope you will join us on the two-day journey.
Check out this great review of Formless Edge from The Sight and Sounds Music Magazine. I love the phrase “contortion of classification” and might just have to use that. 🙂
